The team of hikers and llamas are expected at the Suiattle River Trailhead by 1 pm Sunday September 3. We will provide fresh food and beverages and celebrate their accomplishments. The directions are straightforward. Some websites talk of partial road closure but also that everything was re-opened in October 2015.   Linda called the Darrington Ranger Station and learned that everything is fine. I also put the information on the events page.

Directions:

Suiattle River Trailhead

Drive SR 530 north from Darrington (coming from west side of Cascade mountains) or south from Rockport (coming from east side of Cascade Mountains) to the Suiattle River Road (Forest Road 26).  Turn east on Suiattle River road and drive  23 miles to the road’s end and the trailhead.
