Despite waking to a cool, damp and misty morning, the team had a calm night and all slept well. Preparing for an 8 mile day, they broke camp and headed out at 9:30 hoping to see the sun.
With mist or drizzle for most of the day, the team proved that Parkinson’s won’t slow them down by hiking a total of 13 miles!
Battling mist and mosquitoes at Pondside campsite tonight (PCT Mile 2256.2), they are currently one full day ahead of schedule.
Planning to meet the team for Trip 3 on Tuesday, these hikers will have plenty of time to enjoy the sights and all that the PCT has to offer.
As an added bonus, Trip 2 will have front row seats for the Perseid meteor shower which is expected to peak in the early morning hours of their last days on the trail.
Let’s hope the skies clear!
