Wednesday morning, the Trip 1 team got an early start. They made good time climbing their last approximately 800 feet of elevation and covering their last approximately three miles. They had a beautiful morning for hiking; beautiful views to close out the trip; and they arrived at Chinook Pass trailhead mid-morning, slightly ahead of schedule. Everyone in the group completed the hike in good shape.

The team took their gear off the llamas and loaded it into their respective carpool vehicles—part of the team was heading home to the Seattle area and part flying home to other states. They enjoyed sandwiches, snacks, and cold drinks, and then it was time for the final group photo, goodbyes, and the handoff to the Trip 2 team.

The Trip 1 and Trip 2 hike leaders carefully restocked supplies like llama feed and reviewed the community gear checklist, which includes items like first aid supplies and the group water filter. The Trip 2 team got their first introduction to the llamas (Faramir, Warf, Amos, and Gina), posed for their group photo, and hit the trail in the early afternoon. They plan to log their first approximately five miles today.

Llama Gina, the Trip 1 team, and Bill give a big thumbs up after a successful hiking experience.
