Trip leader Rich reports the Trip 5 team is at North Matthieu Lake. “Rugged four miles today and lots of lava. I think we are about done!”

Trip 3 team hits the trail

Trip 3 is underway. This route for this hike is Walupt Lake to Berry Patch in the Goat Rocks area of the PCT in Washington state.

The Trip 3 team reports: “Camped just before the PCT junction. Nice gradual climb as we hiked by Walupt Lake. Then after lunch climb stiffened to get us up a ridge, then more gentle. Team is all together and working well as a team. It was a bluebird day and warm! Bill saw two tree frogs. Jheri found a home depot load of lumber and made a table!”

… We’ll have to find out more about that table—probably when Trip 3 concludes.
