For the Trip 4 team, trip leader Dan reported Saturday:

“Sunny morning; smoky smell.

“Camping at beautiful Anderson Lake tonight. All are a little sore. And, thrilled to have such a fine place to stay. More swimming!

“Looking forward to a short hike tomorrow to Dewey Lake. Expecting more company there on a Sunday so close to Chinook Pass Trailhead.

“Many more hikers today, and questions about llamas. Lots of llama photo ops.

“Smoke not so bad this evening since we are on the west side of the ridge.”

There are no forest fires threatening the Trip 4 team’s route as of Saturday morning. Saturday, the team hiked approximately 6.5 miles and passed landmarks including Laughing H20 Trail, Two Lakes Trail, and American Lake Trail. This section of the trail offers views of Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, and Mt. Adams.
