Hearty Thank you to Brian Lorenson as he rotates off the PasstoPass Board of Directors. Brian and his wife, Carrie saw a newscast about PtP’s inaugural hike in 2016 and came to see us start at Stevens Pass. Then, Brian followed up that Fall; meeting with Bill and sharing his interest in volunteering to lead trips, promote the organization and plan trips and equipment. He has followed through every year with his volunteer work and joined the board in 2018 as president and then as treasurer.
After the maximum allowable three terms, Brian is rotating off for at least one year. However, he is still hiking (for the first time with Carrie) at Joshua Tree trip in 2024 and he leads the Regional Chapter Day Hikes in Spokane with Bill Meyer and Dan Lorenson. Brian is always available for brainstorming and helping trip leaders with routes, maps, Garmin training and llama stories. Brian has been a huge part of PasstoPass’s success and growth and we appreciate his expertise and good will.
The Board expanded to 7 members in 2024 (full list and information at web page- Board Members ). New members are Dave Baumgart, long-time trip leader and Chapter leader in the Seattle area, Judi Spencer, trip leader and developer of the Mt. Rainier day hikes and Jerry Bassett, trip leader and Chapter leader in Wenatchee. Welcome aboard, we appreciate you sharing your skills and time as we are gearing up for a great 2024 season.

Hi, I’m interested in the Joshua Tree outing. I used to backpack when my son was in Boy Scouts. I was a co-leader on the Philmont Ranch outing. I live in Huntington Beach-anyone I could carpool with? 76 yr old female with Parkinson’s. No partner. Exercise 5 days a week at Rogue with Claire MeLean.
Thanks,
Teri
Had a great experience with Brian in 2022 hiking north on Washington PCT during some hot days. Brian was/is a very caring leader – thanks so much, Brian. Janie House
