The Northwest Chapter APDA 2024 Service Provider Optimism Award will be awarded March 2, 2024 at the Magic of Hope Gala Celebration in Seattle, Washington to Bill and Nadean Meyer for their work founding and continuing PasstoPass.org. Some family and PtP board members will join them at the celebration and a live streaming of the program will also be available.
Stella Chao, PtP support hiker for husband, Mike Symser in 2022 & 2023, nominated the couple for the award.
As one recent hiker said, “It’s not only the trip itself, but meeting everyone else on our trips that has been wonderful. We have made friendships with other people impacted by Parkinson’s from other parts of the country. And those relationships, too, have made our lives with Parkinson’s easier.”
On behalf of APDA Northwest, we’d like to thank Bill and Nadean for all they have done to help our Parkinson’s community stay active and optimistic. We are honored to recognize you both as recipients of this years’ Service Provider Optimism Award.
Bill and Nadean thank the countless volunteers and hikers over the past 9 years who have made PasstoPass beloved and successful. 2024 is already a great year with 12 planned multiday hikes and numerous day hikes spreading across the country.
