Trip 13
Congratulations to the Trip 13 team! They successfully completed their hike midday Saturday. This team hiked in the vicinity of the Santiam Loop Trail in Oregon, starting and finishing at Santiam Pass Trailhead. They endured high temperatures at the beginning of their hike and rain at the end of their hike.
Trip 8
Assistant trip leader Abby reports the Trip 8 team “had some heavy wind and rain last night but woke up with high spirits and no rain! We hiked four miles to Two Lakes, where we enjoyed fresh huckleberries and views of wildflowers.
“Sandy and Chris are officially professional llama wranglers! Sandy has especially bonded with llama Worf as they’re both the chattiest of the bunch.
“The group cheered as the sun peeked out for five minutes. Although the sun break was shortlived, we are happy for no rain.
“We settled down at a lovely campsite where the llamas can graze and the group can eat meals together. We are excited to continue on our trip tomorrow and hoping to get more sunshine.”
The Trip 8 team hiked approximately six miles total on Saturday.
