Trip leader Linda reported late afternoon: “The Trip 9 team was up and out of camp by 9 a.m. The group has enjoyed magnificent views of Mt. Adams today with beautiful blue skies.
“Our newest llama was learning the routine. She kept pushing past llama Amos [a PasstoPass regular] and pushed her pack back, causing it to loosen. So, we spent some time re-saddling her.
“All the hikers found the hike beautiful but challenging — we climbed 1,200 feet today! We are now at Sheep Lake enjoying the cool water and good conversation.
“Several of our team members actually took a full plunge and swam in the cool water. Soon will be dinner and probably another cribbage game. Everyone in great spirits, appreciating our exchanges and being immersed in this amazing world.”
The Trip 9 team has hiked about 9 miles total. They are scheduled to spend two nights at Sheep Lake, with a “zero day” (no forward mileage on the route) planned for Saturday. Teams often use the rest day for short day hikes close to camp.

Enjoy Sheep Lake!
