Trip leader Linda reported late afternoon Monday: “Yesterday was a hard day to top, but top it today we did! What a fun and beautiful day we had. Eight of us left camp at 8:20 this morning to hike to Goat Lake. We saw flowers, beautiful water gardens, meadows, vistas, Mt. Adams, and the gorgeous blue waters of Goat Lake. We watched pikas and marmots gathering food for their storehouse.

“Then, where we sat for lunch, we found ourselves surrounded by many blueberries! So, we began eating blueberries and filling up a water bottle full of blueberries to add to everyone’s breakfast.

“Dave and three others stayed back at camp to watch the llamas. Allan had a little dance with llama Faramir as he was trying to unwrap the rope that Faramir had wrapped around his two front legs. I sure wish we had the video camera rolling!

“For our last night, we are going to have a community snackcouterie board where everyone shares some of their remaining snacks. It should be fun to see the variety of goodies!!”

The Trip 9 team is scheduled to come off the trail Tuesday at the Berry Patch trailhead.
