Eric reported ” Seven hikers took a day hike to Escondido Lake (pictured above from WTA report)- 6.25 miles, 1780 ‘ elevation gain and loss with maximum elevation for 4650’. A great hike although it is still hot and smoky. Many of the hikers soaked their tired feet and one hiker soaked her head in cold water. ” Last night the group discussed the different hike options to the ridges, junction to PCT and several lakes.” Eric was there last year, so I am sure he has advice for the group.
” Those who stayed in camp set up a camp tarp and hammocks. We are now relaxing and telling stories at dinner. “
Last summer, we also had 2 baseline camps at Pete Lake and I was surprised that neither group uploaded their pictures to our sharing folder. We have so many great photographers on most of our trips, so I will try to share other sources.
Eric looks ahead with ” Elk bow hunting season opens tomorrow and we met many hunters on their way up to Waptus Lake. It should be cooler and possible rain tomorrow.”
