Today’s report ” Trip 12 had a great day today! Starting early , we set off towards Spectacle Lake in nice 58 degrees, approximately 10 miles round trip with 2000′ elevation gain.

Taking many breaks throughout the morning, we had lunch at the waterfall while discussing the rest of the day. The group decision was to push further to the top of the ridge, so we can see the lake. It was beautiful, well worth the effort.”

We were back at camp about 4:30 with time for a swim before dinner. Then eating dinner and talking about the week, goals we met and PasstoPass as an organization.”

Spectacle Lake is in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness and the Waterfalls Northwest website says that the falls, named Spectacle Lake Falls is a height of 54′ that spills from Spectacle Lake. The lake is one of countless lakes in the wilderness located in a solid granite bowl just off the PCT junction.
