Trip 12 leaders- Dan and Doug reported ” we left Pete Lake camp at 11:45 and arrived at the trailhead at 1:30.”
Trail angels, Tony and Gail had a lunch available- sandwiches, chips, drinks, home-made cookies and fruit. It is always a celebratory time and the fresh food is appreciated. Tony and Gail have spent the this summer and last summer following many of the llama trips as the hikers take off and return from their hike. They also solve problems and move equipment and even the gear trailer. Molly and Jamie also joined in as trail angels at Walput Lake this year. We are fortunate to have this support from Bill’s relatives.

This week was the end of the llama supported trips. In 2025, we had 20 different llamas from 5 unique owners. This support makes PasstoPass successful and we are beholden to our llama owners and wranglers who are patient with us and so willing to share their llamas. Our final 2 trips are lodge/car camping based trips with day hikes that allow hikers to have a more comfortable overnight sleep. One is in Mount Rainier National Park and the second in Shenandoah National Park.
