The Trip 13 team reported Monday:
“Today’s vitals: 10.1 miles, 1,500 feet elevation loss (most of it in the last 2 miles). We took it easy on knees.
“Today we joined forces with Lor and Dawn. We met them at about 11 a.m. after hiking out of our other trailhead. We made the beautiful hike into Glen Aulin, home to a High Sierra camp and gorgeous waterfalls.
“We are camped at the bottom of a spectacular waterfall. Wait until you see the pictures.
“Today’s excitement came from the fact that we were charged by a deer. That will get the heart pumping.
“Hiro promises to do a triple backflip off the top of the waterfall with a dive to the bottom in his Speedo. That will get the crowd cheering and bring them to their feet.
“Tomorrow will be a layover day and we will swim and relax at the base of this waterfall. The mermaids will be serving drinks, so we’ll be enjoying that as well.
