Trip 14 started today in Montana near Philipsburg. Brian, Trip Leader, picked up the llamas yesterday and took them to graze at Dan’s place ( assistant Trip Leader). While the hiking starts tomorrow morning, the group is camping out together tonight at the Fall Fork Trailhead with fine views of the falls and a campsite with tables and more.

Brian, trip leader reports: Everyone is at the trailhead getting to know each other. The llamas are happy to be out of the trailer and they are relaxing.

JMT Trip 13 Complete !

Derek reports : Today was the last day, we came off trail after a 6 1/2 mile hike out the thousand stairs of death.

We had a bright moon every night and it is a full moon tonight. The weather was near perfect, almost a little too warm, but not complaining.

On the hike out, we encountered a man sleeping on the side of the steep trail. It was a bit odd as he stuck his head out of his sleeping bag like a turtle. He just stared at us and turned away slowly, then went back to bed. Creepy.

Now we are camping up by Rock Creek; cracking a few beers with chips and salsa and had some watermelon …reminiscing about the trip and talking about next year. We hope you can join us next year on a trip.
