Trip leader Brian reported Sunday afternoon for the Trip 14 team:
“Everyone is embracing the downtime, especially the llamas. The smoke has cleared and it’s a beautiful day.
“We’ll gear up tonight for an early departure in the morning. The forecast is for cooler hiking and we’re looking forward to that.
“Too bad the satellite won’t send pics! I’d have some keepers for the blog. What a great spot. Trip so far has been super.
“We’re deep into a backwoods cornhole tournament! Competition is intense.”
The Trip 14 team is scheduled to return to Johnson Lake on Monday before coming off the trail Tuesday.
Trip 2
The Trip 2 team’s Sunday itinerary calls for hiking about 6.5 miles and camping in a beautiful meadow near Crag Lake. While we haven’t received a Sunday update from this team, that’s not unusual, especially early in the trip.
