The Kisch family, Linda, Tian and Moli, wish to honor Ken’s memory: his love of the mountains and his role in the establishment of PasstoPass. They started a Memorial Fund to assist in the expansion of new opportunities and trails. The Board appreciates this generous offer, especially this year with increased expenses as we expanded to Montana, Utah, New Hampshire and New York for hikes. We also established new day hike regional chapters in Virginia, Great Lakes and a proposed chapter for Eastern Sierras in California. If you choose to contribute in Ken’s honor to this fund, please add his name to your DONATION method or let us know through the contact form.
We shared more about Ken as first hiker, first president and first webmaster of PasstoPass and so much more on a special webpage, Ken Kisch, where the family provided some of his journal entries. I am sharing some of his amazing photographs here and more are available at our past hikes for 2016-17.

On the 2017 trip, here is Ken checking on his meds, a common task for all our PD hikers.
This summer, we learned of the passing of Patty Harrold in July. Ken recruited her for the first hike in 2016. Patty and Ken were the only 2 PD Hikers to complete the full 72 miles from Stevens Pass to Snoqualmie Pass. Three other PD hikers who planned to go or started the hike had to drop out with different medical issues. Rest in peace Patty and Ken.

Ken, I want thank you for everything you accomplished to create Pass to Pass, I’m hoping in 2027 to make one the summer hikes, and if I do make it, I know I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you!
